Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between your legal services and consulting services?

Legal Services – Innovation Attorney PLLC
We provide licensed legal representation, including contract drafting and negotiation, entity formation, compliance guidance, and ongoing legal counsel. These services address your formal legal needs and obligations.

Consulting Services – Innovation Consulting LLC
We do not practice law in this capacity. Instead, we focus on operational improvement—helping law firms, corporate legal departments, and legal technology or compliance startups streamline processes, select and implement the right tools, and improve overall efficiency. Attorneys know the right questions to ask when it comes to structuring the operations of a law firm or legal department, which gives us a unique advantage in identifying gaps and solutions. We also help ensure that technology solutions comply with rules of ethics and privacy laws, particularly in the use of AI and other emerging tools.

Legal technology consulting bridges the gap between legal professionals and the right technology. We assess your current tools and workflows, identify unnecessary or redundant software, and recommend solutions that enhance productivity. We also ensure that any technology—particularly AI tools—meets appropriate privacy, security, and compliance standards.

Our goal is to help legal teams adopt technology that drives efficiency and value, not unnecessary complexity.

Modern businesses often need both legal expertise and operational insight. You may require a lawyer to draft contracts and advise on compliance, while also needing strategic guidance to ensure your legal processes and technology are efficient, scalable, and aligned with your growth goals. Our legal background means we understand not just the operational side but also the regulatory, ethical, and privacy considerations that impact your business.

Traditional Retainer
You pay in advance for hourly legal services at standard rates. All time spent—calls, emails, and other work—is tracked and billed against the retainer.

Subscription Model
You pay a predictable monthly fee for a set number of hours at discounted rates. Hours are tracked, but you are not charged for every individual interaction. This provides the accessibility and reassurance of having a lawyer “on payroll” without unexpected charges, subject to a usage cap.

Legal Services – Startup founders, small to mid-sized business owners, digital entrepreneurs, SaaS companies, and e-commerce brands.

Consulting Services – Law firms, in-house legal departments, legal technology startups, compliance-focused startups, and companies building technology solutions for attorneys.
